Brookshire Brothers Express opens July 30th in Zavalla, Texas with a community-wide ribbon cutting at 10AM. The store, located at 198 East Main Street is a blend of grocery and convenience. Company spokesperson Sally Alvis says, “Our new store is tai-lored to meet the needs of the people of Southern Angelina County and the hundreds of thousands of outdoor enthusiasts who visit the area to enjoy our lakes, rivers and forests. Shoppers will find everything from our famous fried chicken to deer corn, fishing tackle, fresh meat and produce, baked goods and a deli filled with grab and go favorites.” The store even has a drive-thru to make picking up breakfast, lunch or supper super quick.
Josh Higgins, a native of Huntington, returns to the area as Store Director. Higgins is proud of his team that includes Sam Dillon of Colmesneil as Assis-tant Store Director and Jacob Casey of Huntington as Market Manager. Of his role at the new store Higgins says, ”I’m from a small town so Zavalla is the perfect place for me. I can’t wait to get to know my customers and take care of their needs. It’s a great store and perfect for the community.” Higgins goes on to add that merchandisers have filled the 22,000 square feet of re-tail space with wide array of products that will keep residents from driving into larger towns for what they need. Fuel will also be available on site.

Cake, refreshments, sampling and givea-ways will follow with special appearances from County Judge Wes Suiter and Zavalla Mayor Jimmy Davis.
