Join Brookshire Brothers as it hosts Shinyribs, a swamp-soul supergroup, at College Station’s newest event venue, Stage 12, on Friday, July 9. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Brookshire Brothers, a Lufkin-based grocery chain, recently opened its newest store on the Texas A&M University campus, just across the street from E.B. Cushing Stadium and down the road from the iconic Kyle Field. The state-of-the-art grocery store in College Station includes a multi-level amphitheater and event venue, concession stands outfitted with beer on tap and wine by the glass, and a large food court. This will be Brookshire Brothers’ first ticketed event at Stage 12.
Shinyribs, a 9-piece outfit fronted by the outrageously charismatic Kevin Russell, was named Best Austin Band at the Austin Chronicle’s Austin Music Awards in 2017 and 2018. Shinyribs has recorded six albums since 2010 and will release their seventh project, “Late Night TV Gold,” in August 2021.
“In honor of our centennial anniversary, Brookshire Brothers is celebrating 100 years of good people, good food and good deeds by bringing good music and good fun to the Brazos Valley,” said Brookshire Brothers’ public relations manager Melissa Crager. “With their unique mixture of country-soul and swamp-funk, and an incredible stage presence, Shinyribs is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.”
Beer and wine will be available for purchase during the show by patrons over the age of 21. Food will also be available for purchase. Tickets start at $20 and are available at Eventbrite.com. Free event parking is available in the store parking lot or next door at Pearce Pavilion.
