In response to Gov. Greg Abbott’s latest Executive Order lifting the mask requirements in Texas, Brookshire Brothers still strongly encourages its customers to continue wearing their masks and/or facial coverings while shopping in the stores. The Lufkin-based, employee-owned grocery chain announced on Thursday that employees will continue to wear masks for their personal protection and for the safety of others.

The safety and wellbeing of Brookshire Brothers’ team members and customers remains the company’s top priority. Throughout this pandemic, frontline workers have been true heroes. It is imperative that the state of Texas prioritize vaccines to make them more readily available for these essential workers so they can continue to support their communities.
