Brookshire Brothers will soon begin construction on a 41,000-square-foot store along Ranch Rd 1431.
Effective April 1, 2022, Brookshire Brothers assumed the lease of a large vacant retail space in the Lago Vista Village Shopping Center. Plans are currently underway to create a unique shopping experience for the local community that will include many of Brookshire Brothers’ signature features and key service lines. Construction will begin in the summer of 2022 with a projected completion date in spring 2023.
With an existing footprint of stores that stretch from western Louisiana to the Texas Hill Country, this will be the company’s first grocery store in Travis County.
“For several years we’ve received comments from residents requesting that we consider opening a store in Lago Vista and are now very pleased that everything is aligned to make this a reality,” said Brookshire Brothers President & CEO John Alston. “We look forward to providing the Lago Vista community and the surrounding areas with the quality products and exceptional service that our customers throughout Texas and Louisiana have come to expect.”
The 100% employee-owned franchise celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2021. Originating as a small general store in downtown Lufkin in 1921, the regional grocery chain has grown to include more than 6,000 employee owners, nearly 120 grocery and express stores, a central distribution center, 72 pharmacies, 87 fueling stations, four coffee shops and two event venues.
